What the Hell Happened!? follows Michael, a man in crisis who wakes up inside MemoryLand Pictures—the sprawling old Hollywood backlot where his memories have been filmed, filed, edited, and occasionally locked behind gates.

His tour guide is Matilda, a sharp-tongued Brooklyn woman who seems to know far more about him than she should. What begins as a bewildering trip through old soundstages becomes something Michael never intended: a confrontation with the memories he's spent a lifetime avoiding—and the stories he's told himself about what they mean.

Funny, theatrical, and deeply human, What the Hell Happened!? isn't a play about fixing the past.

It's about finally being willing to look at it.

Because sometimes the question isn't, “What's wrong with me?”

It's “What the hell happened?”
